Laila Al Suwaidi: Flag Day is a great opportunity to pay tribute to the founding fathers

Her Excellency Laila Obaid Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR), stated that Flag Day is an annual national occasion with great symbolism, in which we reiterate our feelings of loyalty and belonging to the United Arab Emirates and its visionary leadership, headed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him”, and his brother His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him”.

On the sidelines of FAHR’s celebration of “Flag Day”, in the presence of Omar Abdulla Al-Futtaim, Vice Chairman and CEO of Al-Futtaim Group, and executives and employees of the FAHR and a number of government and private institutions, she said that this day is an important opportunity to pay tribute to the founding fathers, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, and to appreciate their efforts in laying the foundations of the Union.

Her Excellency added: “The UAE flag is a symbol of its sovereignty and unity, and a reflection of its glory. Flag Day is a day of pride and honour on which we raise the UAE flag high and fluttering in the sky of our beloved country, to express our adherence to our unity and authentic national values. On this occasion, we reiterate our commitment to deploy more efforts and achieve more for our country, and to build a better future for future generations”.
