Dr. Abdurrahman Al Awar, Director General of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR), stressed the importance of integrating government efforts, at federal and local levels, to develop human capital and implement the recommendations of the UAE Government’s annual meetings on HR Axis, which was moderated by FAHR during the meetings held last September in Abu Dhabi.
HE explained while chairing the meeting organized by FAHR at its HQs in Dubai, that the meeting was aimed at discussing mechanisms for coordinating joint efforts between the Authority and the human resources departments at the local governments to implement the six human resources initiatives that have been adopted during the UAE Government’s annual meetings.
“The main objective has been to achieve the development of government human capital, exchange views and agree on the responsibilities and time frames for the implementation of the initiatives”, he said, stressing the Authority’s commitment to cooperate and coordinate with all concerned parties to implement the initiatives, and provide necessary support and advice.
The meeting was attended by: HE Aisha Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of HR Policies Sector, HE Laila Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of Programs and HR Planning Sector, and representatives of human resource functions in local governments: HR Authority of the Government of Abu Dhabi, HR Department of the Government of Dubai, HR Department of the Government of Sharjah, Executive Council of Ajman Government, Executive Council of Umm Al Quwain Government, HR Department of the Government of Ras Al Khaimah and the Human Resources Department of the Government of Fujairah.
For her part, Noura Jassim Redha, Head of Performance Indicators Measurement and Follow-up, reviewed the six initiatives and the desired outcomes, which are required of all parties to achieve.
She said: “It should be noted that the six initiatives launched to empower government human resources included: harmonizing and integrating HR policies and systems, assessing HR maturity, establishing (1) a unified Government HR database, (2) Smart HR Systems, Study on Future Skills, Human Resources Club”.
