FAHR launches its agenda for UAE Innovation Week

The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) launched its agenda for the UAE Innovation Week on Sunday, February 21, to continue until the February 25, 2021. The announcement of the agenda came during the virtual workshop held by the Authority for its employees in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, together with the announcement of the second version of the HR strategy for digital transformation and artificial intelligence.

In this regard, Khaled Al Mazmi, Director of Strategy and the Future at the Authority, stressed that the Innovation Week is one of the most important national and regional events which encourages innovation, innovators, and talented people. He attributed this approach to the UAE’s wise leadership which strongly believes in the importance of investing in minds to enhance  the country's leadership and competitiveness on the global map in various fields.

He explained that the Authority's agenda in Innovation Week includes launching and implementing 8 initiatives and events for employees. The most important of these include launching the second version of the digital transformation and artificial intelligence strategy in the field of human resources, launching an electronic campaign to attract ideas through ‘iThink’ platform, and holding two free virtual training workshops for employees of ministries and federal entities through the Federal Government’s e-learning portal "Al Mawred", the first titled "The Four Lenses for Innovation and Creativity", and the second "Methods of Transforming Innovative Ideas to reality."

Al Mazmi said: “The Authority will launch during the Innovation Week the smart application of psychological and moral support program for Federal Government employees "Hayat", which was launched last year with the aim of protecting the mental health of employees of ministries and federal entities, and assisting them with the support of specialists and consultants in Life Works, a leading company at the state level. "Hayat" program aims to raise employee efficiency and productivity by reducing work stress, improve   quality of life in the work environment, and job satisfaction, thus achieving the required work-life balance.”

He revealed plans to hold a free virtual session for the Human Resources Club on artificial intelligence, in cooperation with CIA Partners Company, which will be available to Federal Government employees and all segments of society. He also explained that the Human Resources Club launched by the Authority in 2010 has become an important important intellectual and knowledge communication window, bringing together thousands of HR professional and practitioners to discuss HR, support services and general issues to share ideas, experiences and solutions that could enhance the roles assigned to human resources departments and other institutional service bodies across different sectors in the country. under one roof.

The Club offers its membership, which has grown to over 12 thousand, an ideal opportunity to learn about the best practices, experiences and success stories of many individuals and institutions, as well as meeting with specialists and those interested in HR. Launch of an online campaign to develop the Government Skills Bank Project

For her part, Maitha Kalthoum, Head of Institutional Excellence at the Authority, explained that the Authority launched an electronic campaign through "iThink" platform, to get development proposals and creative ideas from Federal Government employees, and all segments of society, which could help in developing the Government Skills Bank Project, launched in 2018, with the aim of assisting and enabling federal entities to benefit from experts, specialists and people with experience in various fields and disciplines related to the work of the federal entity. The campain also aims to enable the entities to employ their capabilities in developing the institutional work system in the Federal Government, and establish a culture of knowledge management.

She explained that the proposals received on "iThink" platform go through a series of processes: generating, classifying, evaluating, developing, and finally implementing ideas and measuring return on investment on their implementation.

She indicated that "iThink" system, whose intellectual property was registered by the Authority in the intellectual property department at the Ministry of Economy, provides the presenters of ideas and proposals with a set of advantages. The most important include the speed of processing ideas, opportunity to participate a group of people in the development of ideas, as well as benefiting from a sophisticated system of notifications informing  users of any updates on the status of their suggestions, with the system also providing reports and instant data about the innovative ideas.
