Thursday April 29, 2021

The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) has launched, during March and April this year, 104 professional certificates as part of the Professional Certificates Initiative (Elite), introduced by the Authority last March. The initiative is aimed at developing and enhancing the skills of employees of ministries and federal entities, by providing them with professional programs leading to accredited professional certificates offered by local and international universities and training institutes, within 20 job families at preferential rates.

In this regard, HE Laila Obaid Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of Programs and Human Resources Planning Sector at the Authority, explained that the  Professional Certificates Initiative "Elite" was a culmination of tremendous   efforts made by the Authority aimed at developing the human capital in the Federal Government, “The initiative is intended to enable employees to achieve the Government’s strategic visions, directions and goals in general, and those of their own institutions in particular,” she added.

Laila Al Suwaidi continued: “The specialized professional certification initiative aims primarily to empower federal government employees and provide them with the necessary specialized skills, so that they can achieve the institutional goals and move towards the future, armed with high skills and professional certificates approved by competent authorities locally and internationally.  These professional certificates are provided, throughout the year, by the best training providers, including leading institutes and universities within 20 job families, and preferential rates for federal government employees.”

The Executive Director of Programs and HR Planning revealed that, since its launch last March, "Elite" initiative has received great interest and  interaction by the Federal Government employees who wish to benefit from these professional certificates. Dozens of employees of ministries and federal entities have registered in more than 70 professional and specialized certificates under the initiative, out of 104 certificates offered, 63 in April and 41 last March.

According to HE Laila Al Suwaidi, the Authority's focus at this point is to provide professional certificates in specialized, scientific and rare fields that would enable Federal Government employees, regardless of their job grades, to acquire higher qualifications and skills that enable them to keep pace with the rapid global changes in the labor market, as well as overcome future work challenges that may face them during their career.

Maryam Al-Zarouni, Director of Government Human Resources Planning Department at the Authority, said that 63 new professional certificates were launched for the month of April, in several fields, distributed among 11 job families: (Finance and accounting, human resources, auditing and governance, health and safety, Institutional development, education, climate change and the environment, program and project management, judicial, engineering, and information technology).

She indicated that at the beginning of each month, similar certificate packages will be launched, in partnership with dozens of training providers, including all specialties, to be available on the Authority's website (www.fahr.gov.ae), the initiative page.

“The certificates are classified by month or by job family”, she added, inviting those federal entities or employees wishing to benefit from them at preferential rates, to contact  "Elite" initiative team at the Authority, through the unified call center (600525524), or e-mail: Elite-support@fahr.gov.ae  .
