FAHR launches Tolerance Umrah Initiative for Workers in cooperation with Dar Al Bir on World Labor Day

The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) launched today, the Tolerance Umrah Initiative, in partnership with Dar Al-Bir Society, to enable hundreds of needy workers to visit the House of Allah and perform Umrah for the first time, as part of a series of community and humanitarian initiatives carried out by FAHR in the Year of Tolerance.

Mahmoud Al Marzouqi, Director of Government Communication Department at the Authority, explained that the initiative comes as continuation of the Authority’s initiatives to celebrate the Year of Tolerance and in conjunction with the World Workers' Day, which falls on May 01 every year.

 

Al Marzouqi said: “Tolerance Umrah initiative is aimed at bringing happiness and joy to the hearts of hundreds of workers across the UAE, realizing their dream of performing Umrah for the first time in their lives, and in recognition to the crucial role of this category of workers which plays a significant role in laying the foundations of sustainable    development of the country.

 

"This initiative is the third of its kind and is the result of the strategic partnership between the Authority and the Dar Al-Bar Society. They agreed to cooperate and launch more humanitarian, charitable and voluntary initiatives for the benefit of needy groups registered with the Society. More initiatives are planned to be launched in response to the declaration of 2019 as Year of  Tolerance”.

 

He added that the Authority has publicized the campaign at the federal government level to allow the opportunity for the largest number of employees of the ministries and federal entities and the public to participate in community work and charitable giving through their various social networking accounts, SMS and e-mail via BAYANATI System.

He called on community groups to contribute to the campaign and donate AED 50 by sending the word ‘Hope’ in an SMS to number 4565 (Etisalat), or number 4849 (du.)

 

He also urged the federal government employees and the public to ensure the success of the initiative, by contributing to the cost of Umrah trip for workers who dream of performing Umrah for the first time, and supporting the Government's efforts to provide workers with all the comforts, calling them to send the word “Umrah” to the numbers 2289, 6025, and 2252 from Etisalat or du; to donate 10, 20, 50 and 100 dirhams, respectively.

 

Al Marzouqi said that the Authority is set to launch a series of community initiatives during the Year of Tolerance, in cooperation with its partners, the federal and local government and private institutions. It has prepared an integrated plan for its community initiatives during the Year of Tolerance, involving its employees and those of ministries and federal entities in preparation process.

 

He stressed that the Authority’s community initiatives are aimed at maximizing the number of beneficiaries inside and outside the country, as well as consolidating institutional loyalty and happiness through volunteering.

 

For his part, Mohammed Suhail Al Muhairi, Head of Community Service at Dar Al-Bir Society, stressed the importance of the Tolerance Umrah Initiative launched by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources in partnership with the Societ. He praised the initiative, its human value, its social role and its psychological impact on the workers, who have been looking forward to perform Umrah rituals during the holy month of Ramadan, stressing at the same time, that the initiative establishes values and concepts of social cohesion and solidarity.

 

Al Muhairi said: "The campaign reflects the strategic social and national partnership between FAHR and Al-Bir to serve the public interest, promote community development, achieve national goals, and boost the UAE’s philanthropic and humanitarian position.
