The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) recently participated in the community initiative launched by Noor Dubai Foundation to carry out vision screening for students of H.H. Sheikh Rashid Al Maktoum Pakistani School during the field visit organized by a joint delegation from FAHR and the Foundation to the school headquarters in Dubai.
In this regard, Mahmoud Al Marzouqi, Director of Government Communications Department, said that the initiative coincides with the International Volunteer Day, and explained that the initiative aims to ensure the safety of the students’ eyes and to raise awareness among school children about the importance of regular eye exams as part of routine preventive health care.
“This initiative comes within the framework of the Authority’s interaction with the announcement of His Highness President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, 2017 as Year of Giving”, he said.
Al-Marzouqi pointed out that since the beginning of this year, the Authority has launched 37 community initiatives in conjunction with "the Year of Giving" and in cooperation with its partner federal, local and private government institutions.
He concluded that the Authority seeks through its community initiatives to maximize the benefits within and outside the country, and to consolidate the values of volunteerism and philanthropy, enhance the spirit of social responsibility, and instil the values of loyalty and worplace happiness by volunteering.
