The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) organized a blood donation campaign today, in cooperation with the DHA Blood Bank, with the participation of a large number of employees of the Authority and near-by institutions and companies. The event coincides with the World Health Day, which falls on April 7 every year.
In this regard, Mahmoud Al Marzouqi, Director of Government Communications, said that the blood donation campaign was aimed at assisting thalassemia patients being treated at DHA hospitals and medical centers.
He said: “The campaign comes to reflect the Authority’s commitment to social responsibility, and its keenness to interact with the announcement of His Highness President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, designating 2017 as Year of Giving. The Authority will launch a series of community initiatives to mark this humanitarian occasion, in cooperation with its partners, the federal and local government and private institutions.”
Al-Marzouqi pointed out that the Authority has prepared an integrated plan for its community initiatives during the year 2017 and has engaged its employees and those of ministries and federal entities in preparation process He explained that the Authority’s community initiatives are aimed at maximizing the number of beneficiaries inside and outside the country, as well as consolidating institutional loyalty and happiness through volunteering.
