The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) recently reacted to global observance of the World Diabetes Day, which falls on November 14 every year, by organizing various educational and medical seminars for its staff, in collaboration with Astar DM Healthcare Clinics.
In this context, Ali Ahli, Director of Human Resources and Services, CEO for Happiness and Positivity at FAHR said that the Authority's activities to mark the occasion included awareness lectures, medical examinations, health guidance and distribution of educational bulletins to employees. “Employees reacted with enthusiasm to the events and showed much interest in receiving complementary health checks, blood glucose, blood pressure, body composition analysis, etc.
He said: “The Authority celebrates this occasion as part of its commitment to raising awareness about healthcare and wellness among employees, encouraging them to observe routine medical screening, and preventive measures against various diseases common in the UAE, especially diabetes and obesity”.
Happiness and Positivity CEO considered the event a continuation to community initiatives launched under employee wellness program during 2014, which comprise four initiatives, each including a set of activities and projects on health, occupational safety, green environment, and community, explaining that the wellness program aims to improve the work environment, employee engagement, job satisfaction and workplace harmony, to reflect positively on performance and productivity.
