Job Evaluation & Description Committee endorses 95% of Federal Government jobs

The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) has confirmed that the Federal Government's job evaluation and description project is nearing completion. The Federal Committee for Job Evaluation & Description (FCJED) in the Federal Government, set up by the Authority is expected to finalize the endorsement of all federal government jobs listed within HR Management Information System – BAYANATI - before the end of 2017.

In this regard, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Awar, Director General of the Authority and Chairman of FCJED, explained that since its establishment, the Committee has endorsed job titles for approximately 95% of the total Federal Government jobs listed in BAYAN System, or 1145 out of the total of 1206 titles targeted by the Committee before the end of 2017.

The main jobs make up 68% of the total Federal Government jobs, compared to 23% for support jobs, 5% for senior leadership positions and 4% for assistance jobs.

The Committee had recently held its twenty-sixth meeting at the Authority’s headquarters, with 799 of the total jobs approved classified in professional and main category, and 341 in support and assistance category.

Dr Al Awar said: “The FCJED is tasked with a number of duties and responsibilities mainly, providing support for the internal evaluation committees in federal government entities to ensure the proper implementation of job evaluation and description processes in these entities, and endorsing the results of job evaluations conducted by internal job evaluation committees.

“Other responsibilities include: final approval of job titles, descriptions and families for new and existing jobs, periodic review of reference levels, in addition to making recommendations for adjustments if the need arises.”

The membership of the Committee comprises the following: HE Abdulrahman Al Hammadi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Control and Support Services as Vice Chairman of the Committee, HE Mariam Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance for Financial Management Affairs, HE Saif Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization for Human Resources Affairs, HE Awad Al Kotobi, Assistant Undersecretary of Ministry of Health for Support Services, HE Aisha Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of Human Resources Policy Sector, FAHR, and HE Laila Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of Programs & Human Resources Planning Sector, FAHR
