FAHR Briefs the Ethiopian Delegation about Government Talent Development Practices

The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) hosted a delegation from the Republic of Ethiopia who visited the Country to learn about the best practices of human capital development in the UAE Government.

FAHR’s team briefed the delegation on the best practices of human capital development in the Federal Government as well as the Authority’s programs and initiatives to develop the future skills of government talents, including: “Jahiz” Initiative for the future of government talents, its digital platform, and the training and development system in the Federal Government.

The visit was part of the Ethiopian Government Executive Leadership Program, offered by the Knowledge Exchange Office at the Prime Minister’s Office in partnership with the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government. The tour included field visits to government departments to familiarize the delegation with the most prominent practical experiences and leading applications in Government Administration and human capital development.

FAHR’s team reviewed the details of the Training and Development System in the Federal Government, and “Jahiz” Initiative. Jahiz is the smart national digital platform that is concerned with empowering government talents with future skills and enhancing continuous learning opportunities, which is one of the transformative projects that contribute to developing employees, investing in their capabilities, and raising their level of participation in implementing the Leadership’s directives and the We the UAE 2031 Vision.

“Jahiz” has contributed to improving the skills of more than 50 thousand employees working in nearly 50 government entities, who have earned more than 900 thousand training badges and 4 million certificates, after completing 1 million and 174 thousand hours of training. The training was focusing on 4 main skills, namely: (data and artificial intelligence skills, new economy and cyber security skills, digital skills, and skills of productivity enhancing and accelerating achievement), according to an approach that focuses on enhancing the productivity of employees and equipping them with the necessary skills for the future, to keep pace with the rapid changes in government work.
