The first meeting of the second edition The Youth Council for Government Talents discusses the future of “Human Resources”

The Youth Council for Government Talents held its first meeting of the second edition, in the presence of Her Excellency Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future, Chairwoman of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, His Excellency Dr. Sultan Al Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Her Excellency Laila Obaid Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, and Khalid Al Nuaimi, Director of the Federal Youth Authority.

The meeting tackled the strategy and work plan of the Youth Council for Government Talents, in addition to the youth agenda and the role of the council in developing projects for a stimulating and supportive government work environment for young government talents, along with innovative and proactive solutions.

Her Excellency Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future and Chairwoman of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, stressed the important role of youth in designing and shaping the future of young government talents and building an advanced future model for human resources in the government sector. Additionally, youth can conceptualize optimal frameworks, policies and proactive projects that harness potential to build a better future for young talents in the government sector. She highlighted that the federal government is keen to enhance readiness of youth for tomorrow, in line with the directives of the UAE leadership to support and empower future leaders so they can carry the torch of leadership in the government, and to benefit from their ideas and potential as they represent the wealth of the UAE and are the backbone of government development towards a better future.

For his part, His Excellency Dr. Sultan Al Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, said that the support of the visionary leadership and its keenness on involving youth in formulating government policies, and enabling them to be instrumental in development paths which are in line with the aspirations of the UAE, is conducive to the ideal environment that gives youth the opportunity to innovate and contribute effectively to achieving national goals.

His Excellency Al Neyadi added that the holding of the first meeting of the Government Talents Youth Council in its second edition comes as part of the ongoing efforts to engage youth directly in shaping the future, within the framework of the National Youth Agenda 2031, which highlights the importance of building government partnership with youth, and empowering them to lay the foundations of development, in a way that enhances comprehensive development in the country.

The Council’s membership in its second edition comprises eight young government talents who were selected from among 40 candidates representing more than 20 government entities. They are: Abdullah Issa Al Mulla, Director of the Private Investment Projects Department at the Ministry of Investment; Maryam Saeed Ahmed Al Marri, Researcher at the Office of Political Affairs of the Vice President of the State; Ahmed Saif Al Darei, Space Policy and Legislation Specialist at the UAE Space Agency; Sheikha Bakhit Al Shamsi, Medical Technician at the Ministry of Health and Community Protection; Hind Al Sharif, Accountant at the General Authority for Pensions and Social Security; Major Dr. Hamad Atiq Al Darmaki, Head of Project Development at the Ministry of Interior; Khulood Khaled Abdul Rahim, Senior Accountant at the Ministry of Finance; and Asma Saeed Al Shamsi, Expert at the Ministry of Community Development.

It is noteworthy that in conjunction with the International Youth Day, which falls on August 12, the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, in cooperation with the Federal Youth Authority, launched the new formation of the Youth Council for Government Talents, with the aim of supporting young government talents and involving them in designing the future of talents, creating proactive policies, and developing the government human capital system based on the visions, aspirations, and ideas of young people.

The strategic vision of the Youth Council for Government Talents is based on striving to achieve a sustainable future based on creativity, innovation, and investment in young government talents, by developing pioneering initiatives and solutions that contribute to improving the government work system, enhancing competitiveness to ensure development and innovation in supporting the economy and society, and keeping pace with future skills in various fields.

The Council’s objectives consist in amplifying the supportive and enabling environment for young talents in the federal government, participating in designing future human resources policies in the federal government, and innovating proactive solutions and initiatives to design the future of work in the federal government.
