The governments of UAE and Azerbaijan held a forum on ministerial experience exchange

The governments of the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Azerbaijan held in the capital Baku, a ministerial experience exchange forum, as part of the strategic partnership in the areas of exchanging government experiences, with the participation of Her Excellency Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future, and several ministers and senior officials from the governments of both countries.

The forum – which lasted for two days – witnessed the organization of a series of ministerial dialogues in more than 20 sessions and meetings, and constituted a platform for sharing knowledge, presenting experiences, exchanging expertise, and discussing the prospects for future partnerships between the two friendly countries, with significant participation of ministers and officials from the government of the UAE, and their counterparts from the government of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The forum also featured sessions that reviewed international experiences to gain insights and learn about the best practices, and distinguished government experiences that reflected positively on government work and the quality of life of communities.

Her Excellency Laila Obaid Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR), participated in a special session on public service and innovation, along with His Excellency Mohammed bin Taliah, Head of Government Services for the UAE Government, in the presence of a several officials from both countries.

The participants in the session discussed mechanisms for accelerating modernization and innovation in public services, benefiting from global expertise in developing them, and the potential for cooperation between the two countries in benefiting from technology, improving government sector management, and promoting a culture of continuity. They reviewed innovative models in government sector governance, and in adopting innovation in developing government services, strengthening partnerships between the government and private sectors, and developing supporting frameworks, in addition to the experiences of the two countries in stimulating community participation in designing the future of government work, and success stories in achieving the highest levels of individuals’ satisfaction with government services.

It is noteworthy that the governments of the UAE and the Republic of Azerbaijan launched a strategic partnership in November 2022 in the areas of exchanging government expertise, in seven work themes which are as follows: government excellence, government services, capacity building, competitiveness and statistics, policies and strategies, government accelerators, and government performance.
